Dubois REC has partnered with local libraries to allow members to “check out” a Kill-A-Watt meter to use in their home.
The Kill-A-Watt is a simple household energy reader used to measure how much electricity your appliances and electronic gadgets consume—…even when they’re not turned on. Just plug the meter into an outlet, then plug your appliance into it to see how much energy it is using. Knowing how much energy is being used will help you make more informed decisions about how you use electricity, and ultimately, help you start saving it.
Ask your local librarian for details about the program.
